Vacation - Part 1

So we left on Thursday the 21st for the Salt Lake area. I was asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding of an old roommate and I was going to see my parents and sisters. I could hardly wait to get there.

We arrived in Clinton, UT about 8am in the morning. Yep, that would mean that we drove the entire night. We had heard of other families making the night drive work so we thought we'd give it a try. Let's just say that it would have worked a lot better if we hadn't brought along our 10 year dog, Cleo. Every time we pulled over she would start yipping to get out and if that wasn't bad enough she wouldn't sleep she just kept heavy breathing in our ears.... the combination made sure that everyone in the car was wide awake at every stop. So, the whole driving at night really didn't work well for us... or at least, didn't work well for cat napping along the way. We did decide on one thing.... Cleo, is going to stay home the next time we take a vacation.

So here are a few highlights from the trip.. (in no particular order)

1. Seeing Grandma Moser ( my mom's mom) She was in from Michigan and it was a treat to see her.

2. Seeing my sisters Martha and Sara and their kids... the kids had gotten so big.

3. Getting my 1st pedicure.... so wonderful! I just have to do that again.

4. Heading to the great Salt Lake

5. Driving out to Antelope Island

6. Being completely disgusted by the TOWERS if brine flies. Something out of a horror film, I assure you.

7. Driving 20 miles to an old ranch on Antelope island and doing ranching activities with the family. (in the middle of the great salt lake)

8. Trying my skill at roping a fake bull. (not so good)

9. Laughing as everyone tried roping the bull... even my Grandma!

10. Heading back to the mainland and having the gas light go on. Especially nerve wracking when you think you might run out of gas in the middle of the towers of flies.

11. Ever so grateful to have made it to the nearest gas station.

11. Heading to Kate's rehearsal dinner. (more to come in part 2)

Nate giving roping a shot... with Grandma holding her own.

TJ trying out a saddle.

My amazing Grandma... she's still got it. I want to be like her. Full of Spunk!

Does anyone know this man? I'm not claiming him.... LOL!

Check out my Grandma!!! She's got an arm!

Driving at night always worked for us but the big thing was we never took a dog along. Now that we are older we drive normal "LOL" there is nothing normal about our family, but again we can spend the night in a motel. Love YA!!!!!!
